So Superman and Wonder Woman is over.
I wasn't that into it at the start, but I was interested to see Superman with someone other than Lois. I didn't want to be Wonder Woman because I was afraid it would only last a short while before it was ended, and it would then hang over Superman and Wonder Woman for a long time. Whenever they interact in future Justice League issues, its going to be fucking awkward. I think its perfectly possible to have ex's working on the same team, but why the fuck would DC do that with Superman and Wonder Woman? Plus there is going to be the inevitable pining, whining and Supercuck shitposting.
Basically, SMxWW could have worked if they had stuck to it, been best to have never happened, and the worst case scenario is to have them together for a while then change it a few years later. Guess which option DC chose?
Except if you would at least glance at the solicits you'd see that the Superbooks are handling the fallout and will smooth over the awkwardness to get them back to normal teammates and JL won't have to force in any drama. Johns will prefer to sweep it under the rug too because he never liked the pairing.

Things will get really bad, though, when they pair up Wonder Woman with Batman. God, it will be so bad. This will poison pretty much all over the Trinity interaction.
Sucks when things like this happen because makes you wonder if there's any point in reading comics at all. They are endless and things happening will eventually be ignored or rebooted or ignored and rebooted. There will be a fallout for a time but eventually it will be like nothing happened and that's dumb. The only thing left to wonder is who will be their next partners and how bad their break up will eventually be.

Can some please explain to me how Universe 8 works? As far as I understand it we're still dealing with Earth 616 but in it's 8th incarnation after going through a cycle like Galactus' incarnation did but that still doesn't explain much. Are we not just dealing with the same characters who are carried over from "Universe 7" and other Earths? Did anything really become "All-New and All-Different" or did we really go nowhere? It's confusing me despite being a long time reader of Marvel.

I was under the impression after Secret Wars, no one would be aware of anything that happened during secret wars and before. Like completely grand new starting from the ground up.
ANAD just seems to be everyone just "doesn't remember" that secret wars happened. Isn't that how the original Secret Wars ended? Beyonder just put everyone back and made them forget what happened.

That's the thing, doesn't seem like that's accurate ether considering things like the Triskelion being in 616 now or Miles' mom being back. Doesn't help that Secret Wars created a bunch of copies of characters so it's possible the ones carried over aren't even the originals.

Only Doom forgot and that was due to bullshit where Doom was in a subplot Byrne wrote that had him body swap to avoid being burned alive and Byrne had to do a time loop story in order to salvage his original plan, leaving Doom with a gap in his memory from his time in SW.
That said, the whole thing is bullshit in so far as Marvel desperately WANTED to do a full-on reboot but chickenshitted out at the last minute.
