>Marco Diaz: half-hispanic; doesn't seem to be able to speak spanish
>Marinette Dupain-Cheng: half-Chinese, doesn't speak one word Mandarin
both have white friends who can talk better Spanish/Mandarin than them
why is this a thing?
>>79684365
english is popular and spoken everywhere, the language of your grandparents isn't. i've known more then a few hispanics that couldn't speak spanish but maybe they could understand it. it's not a meme but a way of life
>>79684365
Because it's realistic. Language is not genetic, you fucking tard ass.
>>79684365
>Marco Diaz: half-hispanic; doesn't seem to be able to speak spanish
Ferguson spoke fluent spanish to him and he completely understood what he was saying.
>Marinette Dupain-Cheng: half-Chinese, doesn't speak one word Mandarin
Chinese is hard.

Literally everything. Yes, including the girl, you pedophile fucks.
Maybe this show simply does not appeal to our demographic
>villain tries to achieve immortality
>it is painted as folly
>the hero accepts the inevitability of death
>"there are worse things than dying"
Completely ass backwards lessons in cartoons
>character strives to eradicate the impurities of flesh and recreate the world with the purity and perfection of machines

Has this movie redeemed the first one?
Yeah, I'm pretty excited for it. Funny how much of a turnaround there's been between this and the first movie.
If only Megan Fox was dead.
>Falling for Bay shit again.
Yeah I said the same thing about Transformers 2 and that it would redeem the first one.
Boy was I fucking wrong.

>If only Megan Fox was dead.
I don't hate her enough to wan her dead, I just want her out of movies that aren't porn.
Busting makes me feel okay.
Storytiming Ghostbusters International #1.
Batman is the story of a rich privileged kid who just so happens to be struck by the violence that was already a prevailing and omnipresent force to the poor people of Gotham. He retracts to his mansion, then go on a world travel to understand the world of the 99% and learn to be a ninja, all with the knowledge that at any moment a private jet could pick him up. Once he realizes he can't espace from his past by travel, he retracts to the fantasy of fighting crime in his own city (not ending crime, fighting crime). And after all he has learned and seen, he decides that the best way to fight crime is to be a law enforcer above the police and kick people in the face until they are not criminals anymore, making use of brute force, torture, the highest war technology available including chemicals, bombs etc, not to mention acting impulsively in critical situations with hostages and terrorist threats in spite of whatever swat teams may have in mind, using the fact that he doesn't directly kill anyone as a token to contain his guilt. All of that being a billionaire and one of, if not the one, most important figures in Gotham's upper class, with a huge influence on its politics. And we are lead to believe that his charital business in building an orphanage here and a hospital there is auxiliary to his quest along with his grotesque crime fighting tactics. Little does Bruce know how oppressive and useless his Batman fights are to end crime, when there is no job opportunities or access to education and culture, because there is no distribution of means of production, no thought out urban development, no project except the private profit projects by big corporations and billionaires like himself. All of that in his power to change with his political and economical influence without moving a muscle as Batman. Had he paid a good psychanalyst on the side to deal with his obsessive neurotic thinking and he'd be good to go and actually do something for Gotham.

>I don't read comics and think this is a new opinion
He does a shit ton of social work as Bruce Wayne, idiot, not to mention providing jobs through Wayne Enterprises.
Are there any X-Men villains left that would hype up a future movie?
>>79681654
Yeah, how 'bout any of them? Half the movies have Magneto and/or racist humans as the villain.
>X1- Magneto
>X2- Racist humans
>X3- Magneto
>FC- Sebastian Shaw
>DoFP- Racist Humans
>Apocalypse- Apocalypse
Give me Arcade, Mojo, the Brood, the Shi'ar, hell give me fucking Cassandra Nova. The X-men have a huge rogues gallery and the movies barely scratch them beyond being cannon fodder for Magneto.
>>79681654
Mr. Sinister, basically. I don't think they want to touch that clusterfuck of X-mythology though.
X-Men stories work in cycles, the same themes are usually repeated every ten years under different villains. Genosha would be interesting. Also Hope + Messiah Complex through Schism (ignoring the related Avengers materials; Wolverine is the star of the franchise and setting up Cyclops as a Magneto analogue would help prevent the Magneto fatigue the movies could possibly suffer from)
>>79681724
This is exactly what I'm talking about here >>79681729
Those b-lister villains are cool in the comics, but they rarely lead themselves to epics necessary for film plots.
Focusing on the Shi'ar (even bringing up Deadly Genesis) could be interesting though. I'm sure they want to avoid another 60s flashback given the chronology they've set up, and too many films set in the past already, but it could give them a space saga to rival Marvel's GotG franchise.
>Iron Man 1
>"hurr durr, corporations and billionaires should be able to make whatever dodgy shit they want, fuck the government"
>evil billionaire takes control of his company and funnels all this dodgy shit to terrorists
>Iron Man 2
>"hurr durr the suit is my property I can do what I want with it, fuck the government"
>immediately gets wasted, almost kills multiple people while fucking around, and later causes millions in property damage
>Avengers
>"hurr durr Nick Fury is selling weapons to finance defending the Earth from Armageddon, fuck the government"
>divides the Avengers team, allowing Loki to escape and fuck up NYC
>Iron Man 3
>"hurr durr, I can deal with the Mandarin by myself, fuck the government"
>President is kidnapped, Air Force One is destroyed, and his girlfriend almost dies
>Avengers 2
>"hurr durr, I should mess with this alien artifact without knowing what it is and without any oversight, fuck the government"
>creates an evil robot that almost destroys the fucking world and obliterates a small country
>Civil War
>"actually, I clearly cannot be trusted to make the right decisions, maybe the government isn't so bad"
Why do people think this is an unrealistic character arc?
Because people read capeshit comics long enough that they forget what character development looks like.
>>79681549
It actually does make a lot of sense, even if it is basically a complete 180 from his original stance.
I hope they remain consistent with that shit post-CW though.

What were your favourite arcs/storylines from the New 52?
I lost track of the ones I was reading early on and wanted to get some recommendations now I've got more time
Trench.
Also, with a new reboot being planned I was wondering do you guys even think the New 52 reboot wasn't worth it? My limited knowledge leads me to believe nothing too new or inventive was brought to the table other than a self mutilating Joker
The first 40 or so issues of Aquaman were consistently great.
Would you eat them?
Never. Joys of living in Eastern Europe.

>>79681121
As I said in another thread, as a civillian I'd totally be pro-reg. I agree with the notion that people like Hulk and Scarlet Witch are way too dangerous to just trust them and let them do whatever they want because they say they're nice and they won't do bad things. Immediately forcing them to sign up for some kind of task force or special police unit would be taking things too far though. They're still humans who often had no choice in becoming what they are. However, in the MCU the government has been proven to be unreliable and very vulnerable to manipulation and infiltration by supernazis, terrorists, etc. So I would definitely not trust them with the responsibility to keep the enhanced people in check and keeping everyone safe.

Answering a question from last thread:
>When is the best time in the week to avoid families in the audience? I was thinking Wednesday at 12. Tomorrow I'd be asleep by then, and Tuesday afternoon I have plans.
Yes, noontime on the weekdays seems to be a good time to get an empty theater for childrens' movies. I went to a Wednesday 12:25 showing and there were only two other people in the theater.
>>79680504
Glad Dustin Hoffman didn't lower himself to that shit
>>79680731
The super bowl ad was pretty good though.
It would have been better if they at least had Shifu's VA from Legends of Awesomeness, though. The guy they had in the ad was terrible. He sounded more like Splinter from TMNT than Shifu.
This is some Squirrel Girl tier shit.

Judging by the art style, I'll be surprised if she's not sucking Harley's and Ivy's futa cocks double barrel after two pages or so.
