I drink silk almond milk because I'm hella lactose intolerant; what milk do you guys drink?
whole milk
You could just drink lactose free milk like a normal lactose intolerant person instead of that overprized nut water
oat milk is the best of all the not milks
I'm hung over and still laughing over last night...
A post-doc that I work with held a BBQ last night because her fiancee was coming up from the US.
Long story short, when she first started working here we made out after a night at the bar and I was trying to push things along when she informed me she was engaged. I was pissed and when I heard he was visiting I decided to fuck with him.
I bought horse meat and made hamburgers out of them, cut with a bit of pork. He ate two of them and remarked at how good they were when I told him that horse makes...

Probably because that guy's a picky asshole. I'd love to try horse, but it's just not available in the US.
I've heard theories that our cultural aversion to eating horse comes from our origins as a colony. In the early days horses were far too valuable and important to daily survival to eat.
>>7534313
>MFW I live in Alberta and we sell our old horses off to plants so the meat can get shipped to France.
>>7534348
Burgers used to do that until people complained. Now they just ship the horses to Mexico or something.
Posting my current set, interested to see what you guys have..
Looking to replace the pairing knives, the boning knife and a new bread knife, but it all pretty functional as is.

What do you use the mini "butcher" knife for (between the sheers and tourne)?
I picked one up for 50 cents at Goodwill and use it as a cheese knife (sharpened it up too); no clue what it's actually intended for.
Ketchup on meatloaf: yee or neigh?
>>7539859
Yes, but not too much.
inb4 le ketchup is inherently bad in every situation ever with zero exceptions meme.
Honestly it depends on the meatloaf
>>7539859
in and on.
no exceptions.
2000 (calories needed per day) divided by 400 (calories per bottle) = 5
5 (bottles consumed per day to meet human calorie need) times 31 (average amount of days in a month) = 155
The MAXIMUM amount of bottles I can order per month is 144
?????????????????
So lose some weight. Big deal, fatty.
Daily marketing thread. Sage and hide

It's for complementing other food, not entirely replacing it. Soylent lacks many thoroughly-studied phytonutrients often not considered in this kind of reductionist nutrition. You need to eat real food sometimes.
Got bored the other day, cooked a steak sous vide with chimichurri in the bag and browned the steak by deep frying it.
Sous vide thread I guess.
looks gross mate, sorry
>>7540406
how about you let your fucking steak rest next time? all that blood on the plate.
And if youre gonna make a pic to post, please learn to plate.
>>7540406
Looks like trash... Should have just done it on the pan anf actually cook all of that fat, I can just imagine the chewy pieces of fat in my mouth, if you had done it in a pan it would have browned nicely and actually look appetizing.
What do you have to say about this /ck/ was the delivery person in the wrong or were the nurses?
http://the-daily.buzz/nurse-pizza-rude-note/?utm_content=inf_4_1163_2&tse_id=INF_cb80fba0ff3146919bdb0801d465f284
If you're lucky enough to have a job take it serious.
Whether the message is rude or just "begging" is a matter of interpretation though, to me it sounds a bit desperate Tbh, like they just want to go home after a long day in their shitty, unappreciated job.
>>7538657
>was the delivery person in the wrong or were the nurses?
Why can't they both be in the wrong?
if your workplace is open until 12 and someone orders food at 11:59, they have every right to do so
yeah, it is a bitch. and yeah, it is a little inconsiderate.
the delivery guy's note was lame. the nurses' response was lame.
basically, they're both bitches.
it's not that big of a deal in the long-run.
>2016
>not boiling everything you cook
Want a chicken breast? Just throw it in and boil it.
Broccoli on the side? Just boil it.
Potatoes? Boil that shit.
That's a whole meal.
>boil
You mean "steam", right?
Boiling kills all the nutrients in your food...
>>7534387
Just toss it in and boil it mate. Let the miracle happen.
>get all muh boiling pots ready
>hit elements to max boil
>once that shit's boilin', all you have to do is toss the food into the boiling water pots
Paradise.
This tastes literally like what I image shit would.
>>7540336
Wait you've never tasted your own shit before out of curiosity? Let's be real
>>7540336
mite b cool
>>7540340
uhh..no
what the fuck is wrong with you
How good is the meat from these birds? They are very plentiful now and fearless of humans. One tried to attack me while I was in my car today. I could just walk up to these dumb geese with a machete and chop their heads off.
Got any recipes?
>>7536924
You should probably seek help
>>7536924
Goose is very fatty and can be quite tough.
Honestly you should just kill them and leave their corpses where they lay.
Goose is pretty tasty, but it might depend on what they've been eating.
>I could just walk up to these dumb geese with a machete and chop their heads off.
That's the best way to do it. It's how my grandfather used to kill his turkeys. You don't stress the bird out like you do when you hold their neck down to chop off the head.
Best way to drink vodka?
>>7535963
Boil it.
Soak a tampon in it.
iced tea.
who /greasyspoon/ here?
I wont work in them, I wont eat in them. So no
>>7538612
Only have Weatherspoons here ;-;
What should I get tomorrow? Probably mixed grill with a side of mac and cheese.
do americans really eat this?
Tell me why.
The hours of the day at which we eat specific kinds of food are completely arbitrary. Just make sure you get enough of what your body needs, then go ahead and eat that cookie whenever you please.
>>7536456
protien
You can, you are a free man. Don't let society dictate your actions. Do what you feel.
But you may find that having cookies for dinner doesn't feel good, since you need to get a full range of micro and macro nutrients in your diet. And cookies have fat and carbs and little else. So you may find it more beneficial to have other things as well.
I have peanut butter, pancake mix, milk, eggs, butter and sugar.
Is there anyway I can make cookies?
>>7539281
by the way I'll document whatever you tell me to do. It has to seem reasonable though.
Sure why not. Give it a go, OP.
>>7539291
I need ratios or something.
Why do I never see Cook Out mentioned in disucssions of which burger chain is the best? All I ever hear about is In N Out and Whataburger, but Cook Out is dank as fuck.
The burgers actually taste like they're cooked on a charcoal grill. The other stuff they offer is great. They actually offer hush puppies and quesadillas as sides, which is tight as shit. The shakes aren't too bad either.
Jesus Christ that's like asking why you never see the McChicken mentioned in discussions of which fast food sandwich is the best.
>>7534329
Aren't they specific to North Carolina or something?
>actually taste like they're cooked on a charcoal grill
so you mean they taste burnt?
