So I had an idea recently when I was looking at CYOA ideas and realized a couple of them wouldn't really work under the traditional format.
What do you guys think about the idea of a 'multiplayer' CYOA, where there's more than one PC and the PC's are competing against each other to solve puzzles and earn prizes instead of the QM?

That's nice of you to say, but I feel like I'm letting you guys down with regard to how he's portrayed. Everytime I ask for advice on how to make him more characterized, the response is always an allusion to his name, which is probably one of the vaguest words in the English language (Seriously, his name means "good" or "pleasing." That's hard to work with.). I've considered having him be a bit more foppish, but that really contrasts with both his occupation and his portrayal in Threshold thus far. I'm trying to make him a bit more nuanced (and independent, as that one Anon suggested due to him being 'separate' from the Anon hivemind unlike most MC's), but my writing a shit, so it's hard to make it show through.

The Threshold itself would be more cold and sterile, but the characters would be more varied. I guess it'd lean more towards the serious side, except for a few of the more lighthearted characters like Squishy and Bang. Since I've largely kept music out of Threshold compared to my other games, I guess the best advice I can give is to use your own judgment.

I've always associated a dandy with a fop, which doesn't really work. The only way it would work is if he acted like a fop to most people but displayed competence when actually working on something. Which would show that a general unseriousness is just how he treats the world. But it's a bit late in the game for that particular characterization.

Space Horse came back to day and actually managed to get more than two posts out which surprised me and it looks like we're going to be getting back into action. Between the bounty on us and the contract we've just got things are looking pretty good we might even get into some serious space combat which i've been looking forward too
I'm enjoying space bug's story so far although the volume of clop has been a little off putting (I've started skipping a lot of it) I really enjoy our interactions with hunter. He's a little cutie and we need more art of him.

The biggest problem is that both Spaces are pretty light on descriptions. Description is usually passed up to get to the actions and decisions.
One of the reasons I was trying to foist the pet play more on Chaos was so that the clop didn't get heavier but that was brought back around by Space Bug anyway. Pretty sure that particular bit is his fetish. Pet play/domination really isn't my thing so while I get the general mechanics behind it I'm not really imaginative with it.

Cutequestria Wars - be a commander of an army. Except you fight with pillows, fruits, and other soft-items as to never truly harm your opponents. Large-scale battles of ponies pillow-smacking each other into submission. Having trouble figuring out how to make the battle parts interesting, as well as the stuff in-between fights.
Stranded in space - wake up to find your spaceship (type of ship up to anons) adrift in space for unknown reasons. Use your smarts and skills to survive, save the other crew members, figure things out before you run out of food or water or power or get sucked out into space...
Robo-ponies - be a robot. Do stuff...get upgrades...still a skeleton of an idea. I just like robot-ponies and wouldn't mind doing something along those lines.
Something with a tank - I'm not a tank autist like Panzeranon so I'm hesitant to develop this idea much further. But it would've been something like following the adventure of a tank crew in a war zone, get separated from others and have to maybe fight your way back to your lines or complete an objective, keeping your tank running, your crew alive, pick up allies along the way...

That's wrong. From experience, strong character actually increases immersion. There's a reason you pick an alignment when you make a D&D character.
Characters should have motivations, personality, backstories. Look at Chalk, Treads, and Jolly.
Chalk's kind of a sociopath, only looking out for her own interests, and keeps all her ducks in a row, getting violent when things don't go her way.
Treads is detached, distant, self-demanding, and very protective of those closest to her, especially Little Star.
Jolly shares some of those traits, completely straight-faced all the time, detached and distant, cracks awful jokes.
And you know what's better? Treads and Jolly have distinct reasons to act the way they do. Treads from her mother and Jolly from her disease. That's character.
You know what all of those characters have in common? They were all blank slates, the personality was completely designed by the players, and they grew as the quest went on.
