How do I get into contemporary East-Asian cinema?
I just watched The Mission (1999) and really liked it, but then I watched a couple of the related movies on imdb like Sparrow (2008) and I really didn't like them all that much.

Start with the beginning and work your way towards modern. Look at who the big important names are and then find out who they influenced down the line. That's your way into contemporary cinema from anywhere.

I've got an unusual draw-request, but, it's important, and I'll explain why.
Off to the left-half of the image, make a 1st guy with a grumpy face handing over to money to the hand of a smiling 2nd guy; the idea being that the first man lost a bet to the second man.
Off to the right-half of the image, make a boy standing tall, with a red-maple-leaf on his shirt, and who is proudly wearing "rabbit slippers." (i.e., slippers that look a little bit like bunny rabbits)
Why? Because I'm studying for a bar exam and am taking digital...
