Why do you need word? Google Docs and Open Office are both free and can handle any formatting that you might need Word for. You can even export as docx files.

Just go to uninstall programs/features, uninstall all shit that isn't drivers or stuff you want to keep, do a malwarebytes scan, dump all that shit, then comb through your drive deleting shit.
What it sounds like you need is a full wipe, which I suggest doing every 6 months or so. Which I would just boot to recovery and wipe it.

The function is defined in two parts. In order to make it continuous, you just have to make the two parts meet.
They split in x=3.
So, in x=3, the two parts need to have the same value.
Which means that:
k*32=3+k
Which leads to:
k=3/8
