Pokken Tournament is a game made by Namco Bandai that is a blend of Tekken and action-fighting games like the Naruto Shippuden series made by the same developer.

You have three basic attack buttons: Weak, Strong, and Pokemon Attack.
Using certain button combinations you can use Counter Attacks or Grabs which can counter attack moves or grab a blocking/shielding opponent respectively.

Field Mode is the initial stage of combat where you may move your pokemon freely, and Duel Mode is the second stage of combat that is more akin to other fighting games where you fight on a 2D playing field. After completing the initial menu tutorial and picking a partner pokemon, pick Online Battle from the main menu / world map.
