I finished replaying VLR and I noticed an odd thing about Phi. She makes a couple "typos" in her speech, one time saying "agricola" instead of "asterisk" and the other time saying "taking the piss out of a lime" , which I believe was meant to be "to pass the time". Sigma even remarks on the later one how you could make a mistake like that so it doesn't seem like it's simply a fault of the translation.
I know there's an awful lot from VLR that was simply abandoned but it really makes me wonder. Before ZTD came out I was sure Phi would end up being the consciousness of the dog or something especially since Zero 3 calls her Phido.

'Phido' and most of the rabbits nicknames for the cast were made up for the localisation since in Japanese he just tends to refer to them all as -kun even if it would be normal to refer to them more respectfully. Also calling tenmyouji 'tenmyo-jisan' turned into tenmyoldy.
Anyone else wish Sigma acted a bit more like an old man? I like how he does a bit, and Diana's reaction to it, but I feel like it's an interesting idea that they didn't take quite far enough.

Kinda, but instead of transferring the consciousness, it's about ghosts time traveling and possessing their past bodies. There's also a time-travel-fax machine, because why the fuck not, as well as the standard Uchi things: robots, the human race being wiped out, time paradoxes, etc.
Overall, I thought it would be fun in a "Uchikoshi having fun at his own tropes" way, since its lighter tone makes it easier to accept that a shitload of things are never explained, but it really makes me wonder if he wrote ZTD with the same mindset.

The unnamed doctor gets the cab Akane's father was supposed to take, which crashes killing him and the driver. The doctor was the one who would operate on Sean, leading to his death. Delta was the old man in the hospital whom Sean befriended.
Sigma and Phi both had the goal of infiltrating the facility from the get go, but it was of course Delta's objective to have him and Diana there from the start.
Carlos might be the least connected of everyone, but in the end his participation allowed him to discover a solution to Reverie Syndrome. All in all the participants are far from "arbitrary."

Intermingled team interactions was literally the thing I'm most disappointed didn't happen. I'd be okay with them leaving out past characters who could have used some info on, but more than anything I felt the dialogue was pretty stale this time around. Junpei on a team with two females would have been great (especially if Akane was one of them), the potential mindfuckery with Sigma or Phi being on the Q team, etc..

I'm gonna be honest, I had to look up a few things because I'm retarded. For some reason I found the Teleporter Room to be a good challenge, but not overly difficult.
FUCK the Biolab, though. I wasn't about to spend 25 minutes guessing container positions and the clue was obtuse as fuck. Also spent entirely too long in the Rec Room because I missed the clue in the one suit of armor's helmet.
Overall ZTD was much easier than 999/VLR. I really wish there was a compendium room that involved challenges from all the rooms like the other two games.

Uh, I can really only think of about ~2 fragments that focused exclusively on Junpei's and Akane's issues (the C team fluoride one and the rec room). Otherwise, Junpei really wasn't that edgy. And considering Akane was deeply in love with her Jumpy, she'd obviously be perturbed by his current situation.
In most fragments, he got out of the edginess by the end, and was constantly cracking dumb jokes.
