This is a public service announcement to all my /v/ folks in light of the GTX 1070/1080 vs. RX 480 Crossfire threads and discussions. Let me tell you and warn you, and everyone on this board/planet, about Crossfire/SLI. It never works. There is no support for it. It is the industry's biggest lie.
The games that do "support" it will end up getting fewer frames per second with the feature enabled, and the pacing between frames gets all fucked and inconsistent. You can have games render at 180fps instead of 100fps, but they appear choppy and inconsistent due to the timing between each AFR'd frame actually varying so greatly.
The games that support it *well* are shit games anyway (ie: Sniper Elite 3), and the big ones that should support it, don't officially (GTA V). When they don't take some time to support it officially, or when the title is a port of a console game meant to run on one GPU, the end result is constant microstuttering, flickering textures, visual artifacts, and all the other negative things you shouldn't experience when you spend twice the money on GPUs.
I had two GTX 660 Ti's back in the day, no games ever worked well in SLI. Thought it might be brand specific, and I'd never owned AMD stuff before, so I switched to two R9 290s. Same thing. Honestly, it's no one's fault but the developers'. The simple fact of the matter is that until consoles move to multi-GPU solutions, which I don't suspect they ever will, we're not going to see any worth improvements in performance with multi-GPU setups, at least without major visual artifacts/flickering/performance issues.
TL;DR - Don't buy mulit-GPU setups unless you're strictly benchmarking or using them for something other than gaming like 3D/image rendering. If you're a gamer, go for the most powerful single GPU setup until someone can get their multi GPU shit together.

tl:dr dx12 and vulkan have native support for dual cards and can utilize them properly.
The only game in recent memory (last 5 years at least) that didn't properly support sli or caused problems while using sli like lower frame rates, is Fallout 4.

I thoroughly enjoyed the lore of Dead Space a lot. Hell even played the Wii deadpsace just for the story. Watched the movie and shit. But man DS3, I just stopped. The moment I heard all the things they did to it, killed it for me. I wish they would do a revival with it and proper.

I used it for 3 months several years back when I didn't have much money for games.
Takes them fucking forever to deliver the damn games and the only reason I used Gamefly instead of a renting games from a store was because I live in rural fucking midwest america and rental places around here only stock at best the new hot thing.

For real, I don't understand how it can be so hard.
I have literally one game in my "Q", which said "Available Now" last night. There's no option to send it while it's available or have them ship it, I just have to wait for them to "automatically" send it or whatever, which has yet to happen and the stock has changed to "Low Availability".
It's fucking pathetic. At this rate I won't even be able to get the game and send it back before the trial is over, and I'm not giving these fucks my money.

It's not the franchises fault that Rebellion are shit developers, hand it off to someone who knows what they're doing and continue the god damn story.
I never understood why people complained so much about this game, the only "problem" i had with it was the rock paper scissor melee gameplay in MP, but i never felt like that was such a big deal.
I had a lot of fun with the single player, it's a shame the MP never worked and only had a few fun game modes.
But aside from the twist at the end the story was pretty lacklustre, although all three stories interlinking was pretty cool.

I know prometheus got a lot of flack for its characters, but in terms of plot it got a couple of things very right especially with its implication that xenolife was used as a weapon of mass destruction by the engineers that turn all life into eldritch horrors
there is just no point in giving those things a homeworld because they only exist to fuck shit up and after they're through with that, there is really nothing else for them to do

Something I read about today:
Kingdom Hearts 1 originally had Sora as a half-lion, half-human who used a chainsaw-sword. The game was going to keep its light / dark theme and as well as the heartless, but the source of the heartless was going to be Chernabog. The final dungeon was going to be Bald Mountain. Also Sora was originally suppose to summon Bahamut as his final summon, as well as Woody from Toy Story.

I'd have peace with it if they don't since they raped the characters from 4/5 onwards, HOWEVER, the OG characters are still pretty god tier in terms of their archetypes and design, so I do kinda hope they'll reappear in 7, but mostly I just want it to be a good game
