Yeah I saved up all year to get one with Sonic, Soul Calibur, SEGA Rally and Power Stone and a couple of extra controllers. It's probably the most fun I've ever had playing video games.
I didn't get one at launch, I was still too in love with the n64. I think I bought a dream cast in 2000 I think. I enjoyed it. I wish I had kept it.
I hated sonic games as a kid. There was literally nothing exclusive to genesis that I was interested in when it was new and I liked the SNES controller better so I figured this console would be the same thing. And with a launch price of like $600 I just laughed it off and ignored it.
God damn was it amazing when my dad got it for me with Gauntlet though.
