Why not make it good to begin with? That c-stick is by far the worst ive ever used. Its completly useless in Monster Hunter.

They were thinking that it would only be used as a way to control the camera. Since that wouldn't benefit from a fully-fledged circle pad, they decided to make it small and close enough to the face buttons so that you don't need to constantly move your thumb.
Lets be honest, the 3DS's circlepad is shit anyway. Having a second one that's exactly the same would be even worse than the regular 3DS.
