Can anyone tell me an RPG I haven't played yet that has the following characteristics. PC is preferable but console games that can be emulated are fine too.
>mainly focused on one character, there could be party members but you create one character of your own and choose to recruit them or not (Fallout style)
>not a fuckton of introductory stuff I have to wait through before starting to play, short opening cut scene or something is fine but no stupid long dialogues with dumb bioware characters (at this point I even consider BG2 to be guilty of this)
>writing is at least decent (doesn't have to be Torment, just please don't recommend DAI)
>generally open world, doesn't ever to be elder scrolls tier but standard JRPGs are out
>world has good atmosphere and hopefully somewhat original
>focus on adventure/role playing, not a hack and slash or roguelike
Hard mode: you're not the chosen one and maybe have a motivation other than saving the world.
In addition to the above mentioned series, I've played the Witcher games, Deus Ex, KOTOR, and Dark Souls, Arcanum, Bloodlines.
I'm really jonesing for this kind of experience again though and I'm hoping there's some hidden gem out there I've missed.

Alpha Protocol covers most of those except it has a long introduction and it's has a lot of third-person shooting. The plot can branch a lot depending on your choices though.

I have a question, in Disgaea 4, how come sometimes user pirates and people I use from netherbattle tournament have these really fucking unique swords and other weapons I haven't seen anywhere in the game at all, not even on the wiki.
Where are they getting those?

They're either Rank 40 or Slayer weapons.
If you're playing Disgaea 4 on Vita they may be Rank 40-2 weapons.
I haven't played it in months after I got all my stats up to max.

Slayer weapons? The ones I can describe best is a sword that looks like a stretched out ghost and a wand with the 3 elements on it.
Alright I've played and beat Persona 4 and then I played and beat Persona 3 and then I beat SMT: Nocturne and now I'm jumping into Persona 1. Just finished downloading the ROM.
What can I expect?
Play the PSP version nigga. Also try to find the version with the original music. The PS1 localization was hilariously butchered.

Hey /v/, I've never played a souls game, and it's about time I try. I assume I eventually want to play them all, so I'm wondering where to start. Would starting with Dark Souls make Demons Souls harder to go back to? Or would a newcomer get better acquainted with the style in the newest DS2?
Also any other noobie rules of thumb you feel like throwing my way are appreciated.

Start with Dark Souls 1
then proceed to Lords of the Fallen
then proceed to DaS 2.

Demon's Souls is a good game in its own right, "going back to it" wouldn't hurt the experience at all.
It's a different enough game from Dark Souls that you won't be able to exploit the same strategies you used in Dark Souls; both in and out of combat. So really it works on either end of playing Dark Souls, before or after.
