Phones have thermal throttling. You can only use a small portion of their theoretical power.
Pc's are too open ended to optimize for. You don't know what video card or CPU the end user will have.
Consoles let you optimize as much as possible. You can take advantage of every last bit of power they have.

What's wrong about that? Consoles have an OS designed to solely play video games, so they can lend more power towards that function. A PC has to run the video game as well as running a more resource-intensive OS that's not optimised for gaming. And a phone has to do the same as a PC, except with a tiny battery.

Even the creator doesn't dispute that.
It does have the best soundtrack of this year in my opinion, so it managed to do some things better than most games. I think it's worthy of some praise.
I think the reason people enjoy it so much is that it shattered their expectations. From the get-go, you're tricked into a sense of false-security, and things simply become either funnier or melancholic from then-on out. For me, I didn't even get tired of it as it went on. Every little fight was exciting and had remarkable difference for such a simple concept. The story had my interested, and I really enjoyed the characters. I never expected to be doing half the shit that I actually was doing, or to be presented with the comedic material. I figured it was just going to be a little indie game.
The story then branched out to be remarkably complicated for an indie game, and it was great that it was presented in small segments that were difficult to unravel in their entirety. Even the music was unlike any other game of the style.
Honestly, I don't believe that a person who has played through it in its entirety would be able to say that it isn't a great game.
