they restored it. but the question is if thats canon. its a completely optional item that also looks super shitty on Venom.
I like to assume any weapon/item you can develop in PW and 5 that are not needed to complete the game, nor featured in a cutscene, is not canon. So as far as I'm concerned,stuff like Stealth Camo was still invented by Otacon and so on.
