When I uninstalled the game from my computer, it was amazing just how quick it took.

No shit? PS4 has a massive install base compared to the Vita. Still no reason to not release a digital-only Vita release to hit that market as well though.

There's no evidence that multiplats do better, or else they will stop using it as a base. Currently, Japanese releases sell more on the Vita.
As such, games are developed with lower end assets to accommodate the Vita and then upscaled. I'm not sure what you're getting at. This is the only portable venue for these games, and the releases aren't exactly slowing down.
So how is it dead, like, at all? It has been proven time and time again that PS4 does not garentee sales due to its userbase, see Tearaway, or LBP3, or Bloodborne. None of these were massive in sales if userbase was any indication.
