MMO Roleplay thread?
>Do you roleplay in MMO?
>Which games do you roleplay in?
>Any interesting stories you have about roleplaying, or interactions in roleplayers in general?
I am genuinely curious as I have wanted to roleplay in a few games like WoW, GW2 and ESO but never could actually commit to an MMO before shit coming up much less a group roleplay.
>>321202032
I used to run and officer several moderately active roleplaying guilds on Argent Dawn EU in WoW.
What do you want to know?
In Guild Wars 2, right outside of Lion's Arch where the zerg group used to fight the champion pig elite, there's a hunter's lodge where some roleplayers do their thing. I ended up just kind of standing across the path, roleplaying as a poor beggar playing the lute. I actually had a few people donate to me, and one female player even had a small conversation with me. But I quit GW2 soon after for ESO.
>>321202241
Sweet! I was just looking for general stories to be honest. But, I would like to know a few things about getting into a group. If I was just starting out in an MMO, would being a low-level character get me ignored by the general rp populous?

Post the worst boss of a game.
Your favorite boss from your favorite video game.
>Playing games with 'bosses' in them
Come on guys, it's almost 2016. Bosses are and always were a dumb, gamey concept
How would you feel if the Miis and Mii costumes returned in Smash 5?
Sure, they are shit tier but I actually find it can kind of fun to "make my own fighter" every now and then and play as them just for shits and giggles. I can't imagine they or their costumes would take up a whole of lot of development time, so they feel like a fun, nice little bonus to the game.
However, I will say they they definitely should throw in some bonus costumes for the actual fighters along with the Miis in Smash 5.
They're just playable Wireframes, I see no problem in them returning.
They're shit and should be buried in the deepest pit of hell
Fuck Miis
I wish they never existed, I would have paid for Protoman costume for Megaman, Dunban costume for Shulk, thr mercenary/ranger atire for Ike, Mewtwos ashnime armor etc
Now im sad
Why the fuck are empty bottles so rare in the Zelda universe?
How many glassblowers have you seen in the games?
would YOU leave an empty bottle lying around in the zelda universe?

Glass is a luxury material
Have you ever seen anything else made of glass in zelda universe?

nice mmo, bioshit
But is this gamefun?
>>321202821
1-50 is fun because of the choices on story missions, apart from that it's your average MMO.
It's time for our industry to mature and have serious standards

>>321201460
couldn't agree more
RPG as a generic umbrella term is not working since 2000.
For our industry to grow, we must also make a distinction between recreational games and competitive games, the same way there is a difference between recreational games/sports and competitive sports
Name a worse MMO

Are videogames really interactive?
All that I can affect is the temporal order of playback, of experience.
Given infinite time (or at least sufficient to exhaust any particular game), the illusion of interactivity disappears.
The thought that people who incessantly clamor for "gameplay" might lack a sense of agency in their lives.
The idea that interactivity is defined by failstate presence is wearing out.
Are tests interactive?
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is perhaps more interactive than it is given credit for. What...

Yes
>the illusion of interactivity disappears.
How?
When do you ever stop interacting?
Back to reddit with you.
>What is at stake in My Game is not seeing something, missing out on something. Other games methodically prevent this exhilaration from ever occurring.
Also shill somewhere else

>Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is perhaps more interactive than it is given credit for.
I'm a narrative game shill but this is so wrong dude. I bought this full-price and was stoked and intrigued and it was literally the most boring game I've played and it ran like ass.
And you're pretensions and I implore you to stay away from games because your line of questioning will lead to nothing but useless philosophizing.
you LITERALLY don't understand half the words you used there.
>RPG
>Most bosses have piss poor HP
>Final Boss has 1 Million HP
SMT II seriously suffered from this problem. I remember a whole bunch of bosses in the mid-to-end game having ridiculously inflated HP whilst not being particularly difficult to beat. I don't know how anyone could put up with the drawn out battle times without sword fusion and Divine Retribution.
>>321201486
DIVINE RETRIBUTION IS A MUST
>>321201946
Seriously. I think I've seen people claim that it trivializes/breaks the game, but that's horseshit.
>Maybe 5 demons in the game actually know it

I don't understand /v/, I know you guys are obsessed with Nintendo to no end, but Vita should have hit every good note with you all. The graphics are phenomenal for a handheld system. And if they weren't good enough for you at launch, over time companies got better and took better advantage of the systems capabilities. The library is full of niche weeaboo titles which is clearly something that everyone who browses /v/ is into. If you aren't, then why are you even here? Do you know where you are?
The price point was a of a hurdle I suppose but time has gone...

>Why did the Vita die
Lack of piracy, and you know it's true
>>321200789
The graphics never really mattered to me and I wanted something with good games not just weeb bait.
It was the memory cards honestly. If they just used SD cards or if the price for the Vita memory cards were in line with SD card prices it would have done a lot better. I know I'd have bought one if that was the case.
