God, I was just looking through the PS2 recommended games list from the wiki. Holy fuck, I got so much nostalgia from the early 2000s, and I usually fucking hate the word nostaliga; it represents being enamored with the vague, the romanticized. For fuck sake though, this is when games used to be games, what the fuck happened to the game industry?
I mean, holy fuck, all these single player games. The only fucking memories I have of modern day games, are all these fucking games that just tack on a story to a multiplayed driven game. Gears of Halo Duty 3 was basically all I remember of the late 2000s, besides fucking The Elder Scrolls IV. I fucking stopped caring about modern games at that point, then started exploring the history and past video game consoles. I haven't even given a fuck about video games since. It's a fucking commercialized, monetary hollywood piece of shit now. I feel like I'm being marketed something every time I look at a fucking game these days, like "oooo shiny" fucking shit.

what you're describing is exactly what people a few years older than you feel about the PS1/N64 era, and people a few years older than them feel about SNES, people a few years older feel about NES, a few years older about Atari/C64, a few years older about the golden age of arcades.

problem with video games is that as an art medium, it was born in the age of rampant mega corporations, so it was watered down before it even got a chance to mature unlike fine art, books, music, movies etc. but of course video games were not the only medium affected, all of those other things listed and more were watered down and sold for low risk high reward eventually

Nope. I just let news filter through to me through Steam and places like /v/. It's kind of nice when a major game is released and it's a complete surprise to you.
I just follow specific news tags on the iphone news app and sometimes articles by polygon and kotaku will show up in them. I'll read them if its anything interesting, but I don't go out of my way to visit any of those sites.

I hate video games that pull this shit off. We should need to level up our characters to maximum level and have all the best weapons to even have a CHANCE against the final boss. And you should hype him properly throughout the entire game, rather than making him an obstacle we keep getting over throughout the course of the story.
You want something even worse about said game? What about when they destroy the ultimate Death Base (which is already on it's third incarnation) one third into the game? Why the fuck did they do that? It didn't even have any impact, and it means they will inevitably have yet ANOTHER Death Base at the end of the game.
Why didn't Kylo Ren just force push Rei through the fucking cliff like he easily did to her mere minutes before?
So, what were those planets that they blew up and how important were they? The rebels didn't seem phased by their destruction at all.
It was, like, 3 minutes of screaming while they watched lava run into their planet and that was the last you hear of it.
I don't get this game. It's confusing and boring. Why would anyone want to play it?

i think a big part of the wiiu's failure was the fact that people who don't follow this shit on the internet didn't know it was a new system
i remember watching nintendo's announcement of the thing at e3. they basically didn't show the actual console at all, only the controller, and they never even referred to it as a new console. they don't have a fucking clue.
once they have a brand that 'sounds good' they just start throwing words onto it until you get dumb shit like 'New Nintendo 3DS' or 'Super Smash Bros for WiiU'. i mean if you don't follow this shit like I do you could be forgiven for assuming that to be a port of a previous smash game to wiiu

Why does managing to kill Buzzo ends in a boring game over screen? The meta reasons are clear in that the creators didn't want to bother creating another story path despite it being totally possible with the game's engine, something that wasn't possible in old games for lack of disk space but can be easily done today.
Some theorize that Buzzo is a sort of Joy mutant that went right and became a superhuman (ignoring Joyful's canon), explaining why is he so overpowered. It doesn't explain the game over screen as if he blew up a nuke inside him by dying. Perhaps his HP isn't really all his health, the fight was just a cat playing with mice and past certain point he loses nerve and goes all out killing Brad.
It would be great if another storyline was avaiable to people who manage to kill Buzzo. I can see his gang wanting to follow Brad after he kills the arm taking maniac. Not even limited to Buzzo, I think this game could have more actions paths, the choice element and supposedly multiple ending characteristic is highly overrated in Lisa: nothing you do matters in this game.

As always, choices shouldn't be seen as somethnig that affects the ending, choices are important when you make them even if they don't have effects.
