Basically yes. Honestly one of the most well-realized games to have ever been made, across all aspects. Gameplay, graphics, soundtrack, story, multiplayer, even the glitchy shit was charming when it appeared. My favorite game of all time.

I've only played Shovel Knight and it's a decent game but it has some flaws. The boss battles are the best part, if the game was just based around battles it would probably be a 10/10 but the platforming isn't fucking fun. It's just a lame grind you have to make to get to the good part. If it was a multiplayer game it'd be a ton better. It's lazy that they barely even re-did any levels to work around the Plague Knight DLC and some bosses are either too easy or too much of a pain to deal with because they were designed around Shovel Knight somewhat. The platforming works againt you in a fair amount of instances too, which is the game's low point for both Knights. The idea of the characters is neat but when you get down to it, there's not much character to explore in any of the Knights. Which is fine, it is an Indie game after all. Other low points include 'inspiration,', aka uninspired content. I mean I get the whip guy is supposed to be a nod to Castlevania and the Knights are kinda based around the Megaman guys and so on but the game does have that somewhat uninspired rip off feel that every fucking indie game has.
As for Shantae, I'm not a pathetic neet who needs several sets of tits on my games cover to be interested in it. Haven't touched it, won't. I'm sure the game is nothing but pandering and cutesy anime shit.
