It's just forgettable & the XCX OST is full of these kind of tracks. He relies on a big bombastic sound because the actual compositions themselves are weak as shit. It's basically Japanese Hans-Zimmer. All the song does is hit into some big bombastic mess of notes over some standard power chords, then just slaps over it a disgusting tin-sounding snare drum to create a generic groove. Even when the bombast lets up at 1:40, it doesn't go into anything interesting; just another weak melody played on the continuing violin over the same generic 4/4 groove where it's just someone hitting that same ugly-sounding snare. It's lazy. Then at 2:29, it does the same thing again, more melodramatic bombast; the same groove; the same god-awful snare drum. The track doesn't go anywhere musically; it doesn't turn any corners. It's just constantly beating you over the head with bombastic melodrama. I really hope Takahashi does away with Sawano for the next game. I'm not gonna lie, there's some tracks I really do like but the majority of it is tacky, cheesy, unsophisticated trash.

The piano intro is so memorable. Then at 0:25, the snare changes into the rim hit of the snare, demonstrating that there is actual dynamics going on in the music, unlike Sawano's bombastic-turn-everything-up-to-11 style. Throughout the song, even when it goes into different parts, there's a constant theme running through it. Sawano is just bombastic melodrama, that's it. It's the same throughout the whole track. The same groove, the same bombastic big sound, the same god-awful snare, melodies lifted straight out of a Linkin' Park/Evanescence album. The tracks sound like a 12 year old just got bought his first keyboard & drum set. Please kill me.

Alright, I'd say that's a fair question all things aside, so I'll try to answer it best I can.
Pros:
>Extremely open and engaging combat system
>Beautiful visual effects
>Rich and genuinely scary open world
>creature design is super classical in a way we haven't seen in a game in a long time
>Great opportunities for player RPing
>Properly difficult and monster end and post-game content
>Actually a fucking great PC port as far as ports go
Cons:
>Textures look like a puckered asshole
>No properly engaging story to speak of (hence the player RPing)
>A lot of characters are either characterless or annoying
>A lot of anime bullshit in cutscenes (and I mean a LOT)
