i feel dead inside.
part of me feels like something in the source engine, but only in aesthetic. the actual idea of having to download some old mod, making it work with steam's new fucktard system, and learning mechanics sounds tedious at best.
i have tons of very large games installed that I rarely play "just in case" and it ends up just taking massive amounts of space on my hard drive. yet I still can't bring myself to delete them. GTA V and Fallout 4 are good examples. I feel like i've put too much effort into modding them, so deleting them just means more work for future me.
i guess the reason I want to play a source engine game is because I miss when I first started getting into all of the mods and it felt like the content was always fresh and could never end. Gmod with TTT and DarkRP, Zombie Master, Zombie Panic Source, Dissolution, Slums, G-String, Portal, the fun alternate game modes like surfing and jailbreak in CS:S and TF2, Left 4 Dead.
I guess I just miss vidya being new and exciting all the time. I miss feeling like I had all the time in the world to enjoy it.why couldn't we stay in 2007-2009 forever?

Do people still play this game on their PSP/Vita or has everyone moved to 3U, 4 and X on 3DS?
MH is one of those games which only get better with every new instalment. There is no reason to play the old games. Especially since people who already played them, have probably finished everything they could, before moving on.
Also, there's already an MH thread.
I'm still playing FU.
I'm waiting for the newest MH to be on a system that isn't the 3ds.

4U and X are worse than gen 3.
I hate any game with "grinding". Any game where you can perform a boring and easy task to become stronger for difficult tasks, has a game design problem.
Games should never treat wasted time as an in-game resource.
Even one of my favourite games, Dark Souls, would be objectively better without a levelling system that can go as high as you like from the very first enemy in the game.
When you fight a boss in Dark Souls, you are always aware that you COULD just backtrack and do some grinding, and it would be easier. This means you can't fully concentrate on getting better at the boss, because you're always thinking "am I stupid for trying this at this level?"
I hate grinding, it's objectively harmful and adds nothing. Put level caps in, restricted by passing difficult events.
I like grinding in some games. It's fun.

Yes. A big open world sonic with lots of super speed traveling across plains with obstacles, and then more confined areas on the map with "levels" in them, sort of more confined tracks to run along. That would be great.

PaD does a terrible job with storing info. Basically everything is linked to your phone or restoration number, not your google play account or anything. I got up to 1000 days last year (almost everyday since release), then deleted it by accident, and it took them so long to restore it I gave up on the game. I don't understand how hard it is to create an actual login method
