What's /v/'s opinion on the Killzone franchise? I love this series, but I feel like it's never talked about on here.
Was Shadowfall any good?
I liked the original three. Shadowfall was alright, it just didn't feel the same.
>>331243650
I really liked the games, though I never beat Liberation.
2a best
Haven't played shadowfall either, so I couldn't tell ya.
I liked 1 and 2 but 3 was pretty bad. That being said I've never felt very strongly about the series at all. It could have done something really interesting with it's setting but it just lamed it out and made it feel generic despite interesting looking designs.
It didn't help that it's shooting mechanics have always been par for the course of a standard FPS.
Yes, that's right. The shitty Project M biweeklies you know and love are starting up again.
This week's tourney begins in 1 hours. If you sign up, make sure to check in afterwards.

3* PPMD is not a god anymore
Last time we had one of these threads was pretty cool and had alot of neat reccomendations, so let's have another
Sell me out on the game you're playing right now /v/. Whatever it is shill it like you've been playtesting that shit backwards and forwards and know it like the back of your hand. Convince me that your game is worth playing at all
>>331242102
Was the zero suit a mistake?
Do you hate that every game takes 30 years to start? This game literally starts right after the intro and your able to access bros moves and hammers in the first fight
Bosses are the best fucking shit in existance, they are fucking fun and hard and easily worth waiting for the next
Gameplay has struck the perfect formula of having 3 people and giving you unique options, Paper Mario works really fucking well
NO MORE TOUCHSCREEN AND GYROSHIT GIMMICKS PLAGUING SPECIAL ATTACKS AND MINIGAMES
Papercraft Mario is fun to drive, and as stated above, your not forced to turn your 3DS or use Gyrocontrols
Streamlined feel, less backtracking and when you do, it's to open entirely new areas with a new shortcut that isnt even backtracking
D-A-S-H S-O-C-K-S is the best fucking invention, literally Miyamoto's only invovlement
Character interractions are fun as fuck and seeing the Mario world and it's characters given character development instead of relying on OC character was interesting to see, it makes the characters themselves more fun

Deadbolt scratches my Hotline Miami itch. Plays like a 2-dimensional version of it.
Only con is there is no way to buy the soundtrack or download it.
So I just got off of the phone with Nintendo support, as usual the representative was quite nice, and was getting me to where I wanted to in terms of acquiring a new NNID.
He said that actually changing the name was not possible due to how the whole system is structured, but what could be done is if I created a new NNID, and then merged the new account with my old account, and then deleted the old account that it would be a plausible workaround.
I'm thinking this is totally fine, nothing lost, problem solved. However this process seemed above his skill and technical level so he suggested that for the final part of this process I speak to a supervisor, which is great as I don't want to lose anything data wise so better to be safe than sorry.
After waiting for about 5-10 minutes on hold the supervisor picked up and was juggling some numbers and information, so far so good, then she starts with, "Ummmmm unfortunately . . .", I couldn't believe after all this wait time and being told this was happening that I'm about to be told no. And that's exactly what she told me, saying that this isn't something "normally" done and it's usually only when transferring from an old system to a new one. I'm thinking that's fine, I don't see why we can't do it anyway. --Continued--
She tells me it's actually, "really labor intensive, and super expensive". I was a bit shocked, but assumed I was possibly ignorant to how this service works. She just told me that I can still create a new NNID but I would have to STAR OVER, everything.
Granted she did start off nice, for a supervisor for one of the largest gaming companies around I'm sure she deals with some real "sweethearts". But it was apparent that she was tired, slightly irritated, and trying to wrap up the conversation now that I have been given my "choices", so I said I didn't know what to say, and just let her go, told her thank you etc.
My question still remains however, as I want to better understand.
In what way, is changing the name of an account, "super expensive" and especially "labor intensive"? Surely there are some really smart people in this field on this here.
Moreover I did ask, "so it's a money issue essentially?", she said yes. I then offered to pay for the service then, and was still immediately shut down. So my money is only worth it if I spend it on a new system, but not directly towards the company? I'm a bit confused.
Sorry if it's a bit soap boxy, but I didn't want to leave out any details. Anyone else here had any experience with this? Is it just us gaijin being put in our place?
Nothing? I'd think there would at least be opportunistic shit posters about Nintendo.
>>331242086
>>331242149
And yet you don't explain why you need a new NNID
Does anyone here play this shit?
In only one month I've put in 100 hours already, holy fuck why are there no threads for this? Even /vg/ doesn't have a general for it?
>fun as fuck
>requires real skill
>easy to get into, incredible amount of depth making it hard to master
>great graphics and sound design to boot
>cheap as fuck if you get it during a steam sale
>real money tournaments available, if you're into that sort of thing
Discuss.
>>331240920
/vg/ used to have a thread for it for a few months. I'm 400 hours in and play it while listening to podcasts. Fun game.
I usually get bored or agitated after a few matches, but It's good to kill 20 minutes with
>>331241196
Really? I got burnt out on 3v3's which I played for like 80 hours and then switched to doubles and it's been a blast.
I seriously can't take 3v3's anymore. I don't have friends that play the game unfortunately (although at this point I might start recruiting from randoms to have 1-2 good people to play with in ranked) but 2v2 is the best. Even if my teammate sucks (which is rare, usually they're at least "average" which is good enough) I can handle a 1v2 if I really try. Or at least put up a good fight.
I honestly can't get enough of the game atm. I'd even be willing to admit I'm addicted to it, even after 100 hours it's really fun for me, personal opinion perhaps but still.
Just sad to not see threads up about it anywhere, really wish I had a home to discuss it on 4chan.
Let's be honest here; if this game doesn't completely reinvent the franchise. It's never going to be great again is it?
Nope. The audience grew up and is now playing Dark Souls
There is absolutely no hope of it "reinventing" the franchise, that's not even worth entertaining as a possibility.
>>331241146
Open World basically forces them to reinvent it though, the old tactics won't work anymore, for better and for worse.
What game do you think of when seeing this image
Halo and Metroid
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Routineis it ever gonna come out?
Where can one use this gun in a vidya gayme?

imagine what counterstrike did in the halflife engine except for the unreal engine.
PS: Tactical ops was superior

"Not muh Paper Mario"
Pretty much that. Personally I'm not that interested in the game myself
The n64 has a built-in AA filter that most developers use. Some don't like it because it's blurry, but someone has found a way to turn it off without resorting to emulation. Would you prefer to play n64 games with or without the AA?
Ah an AA filter, thats why my father never played video games with me
>>331239641
Both look disgusting 2bh
Whatever is faithful to the game on an actual N64
Graphics nowadays have gone ways above the N64, making any enhancements intended to make the graphics look better in an N64 game completely meaningless to me
Walter Sullivan is the most underrated antagonist in gaming. Prove me wrong.
I really liked him as well... the whole motive and all the terrible things he did with his sacrifices really hit me back in my PS2 days.
Gotta go back to those.
...Guess no one can prove you wrong.
>>331238965
>the most underrated antagonist in gaming
due to the (largely undeserved) hate SH4 gets.
I replayed the whole series a month ago so I know what I'm talking about. No nostalgia for any of the games either. A horror veteran, have played pretty much all there is.
So I'm as objectively subjective as possible.
G-Guys? This actually looksfun

It's a paper pouch, further adding to the lack of quality.
Starting with some games I loved:
Wasteland 2
Valkyria Chronicles
Shadowrun
Underrail
Dead State
Xenonauts
The newer XCOM games are... Okay. I don't like the way the difficulties or encounters work. Would Jagged Alliance be something worth playing? What else? Thanks bruvs!

FROZEN SYNAPSE
>>331237268
Turn based encompasses a wide selection of genres, from RPGs, through squad tactics games to 4x strategies. It's not really a precise question.
But yes, JA2 would be a perfect game judging by what you've played and liked so far. It's really the best at what it does.
>>331237268
I've heard that Jagged Alliance 2 is very good, but also very hard. I don't like having to read hundreds of pages of a wiki just to enjoy a game, so I'll not even bother playing it
