What they could do is make a controller that has a suction cup / holster thing for a phone, and can then use your smart phone as a second screen. Could work sorta like the current Wii U gamepad without Nintendo being forced to include the display hardware themselves. Sony is going to open up their PS4 remote play app to all phones soon so the technology is definitely already available, and the Wii U gamepad already works in a similar fashion.

I've spent hundreds of hours over a year and a half in practice mode, single player, and online. I spent most of my time playing USIV and SF2, with some KOF on the side, and I'm still absolute trash at all of them, because I can't do a basic combo.
This wouldn't bother me so much if I could at least do one of the most basic inputs - the dragon punch - consistently. But no, I can only do it 50% of the time in perfect training conditions - much less with any bit of stress.
I love fighting games. There's so much strategy, so many mindgames, and it's great fun to watch. I did fencing as a kid, and this reminds me of it.
But if only I had the minimum amount of dexterity required to even play the game - I bought a damn arcade stick thinking that it was the pad screwing up my thumb, but I have the same problem.

I personally like challenging games so this mode isn't relevant for me but I don't see the problem with including one as long as it doesn't effect the game overall. Some people are simply not familiar with video games, yet might like to play it for the story and presentation, which is fair. And besides, it may give these people an opportunity to improve their skills (depending on how the game handles feedback of failure) without getting frustrated and giving up early on.
