1. They're early PS3 games and I don't think they want to localize PS3 games this late (especially since Y0 is only coming to PS4 here)

the "problematic" aspect of WtNO is that they just made the Nazis way too fucking cool and made even alternate history 1960 seem better than the present we have now in too many ways.
That's why they had to have the whole Oy Vey Muh Kike Science subplot.
In actuality it was a neutral point, since the Nazis in under twenty years took their reverse engineered tech and did amazing things instead of just hide it in random suboceanic crypts or whatever.

More than a single weapon was useful, the Sniper wasn't a straight upgrade to your spawn weapon, there are at least 2 powerups and Rocket Launcher per map, and the spawn system can be manipulated to provide consistent and predictable results without enemy interference.
The guns were also harder to use.
