So does Square actually legitimately think that these games are perfect and that none of the systems/stories needed to be updated? Here's an example of the games bad design:

>Have to go through 3 stages of bullshit maze caves and horrible random battles
>Once the vampire is defeated(and I don't mean the Lich guy), you get a ruby and have to leave, which means means going through the same thing 3 times
>Then once you give a ruby to a giant and talk to an old man, you have to go BACK to the vampire caves and go down the same 3 levels just so you can then go into even MORE maze caves
Obnoxious backtracking like this is unforgivable.
FF1 is legitimately my favorite one.

Probably not but a product like that is designed to sell off nostalgia (either your own, or a sense of 'so that's how it was'). If they changed anything there'd be a huge backlash about how it's dumbed down casualized shit.
There are also literally 0 RPGs that don't make you backtrack at some point, this game just does it more than most. If nothing else it shows how much more powerful you become on each trip, though that's a weak defense.

What happened to Steam? I am trying to browse for a game and can't find anything besides literal garbage everywhere. I remember Steam had about 200 games and this year it has probably 2000, mostly trash "indie" games.

All was lost. But then I remembered I have magical powers! I can shoot out magical bulletz in every direction, like some sort of human twin stick space ship or something! I used this knowledge to go on an adventure around the world to learn new magical powers, and ended up saving both the world and the tanning business!
I had loads of fun along the way, did a bit of rapping (I am a well good rapper desu), made new friends and had a few romances as well!!! Basically it was a right laugh, and u can experience it all in my new action rpg!!!!

The main Japanese PC gamers I've interacted with were the communtiy around FHSW mod. They are still plugging away at a mod for battlefield 1942 to this day.
They fill up the prince umeboshi server every day at like 6AM EST for a few hours. I can't get low enough ping to play on their server anymore though. A shame.

I sometimes see nips on Yuro KF2, RO2 and Insurgency servers. But it's pretty rare, they usually have awful ping, but are still pretty fun to play with.
