Why is this one of the best 2D Sonic games while the sequels are awful?
It's bland but functional, so it looks good in comparison to the other two.
SAdv2 is the "hold right to win" meme but for real.
SAdv3 is a fucking tire fire.
I liked Advance 1 and 2 for different reasons, but I'd say 1 is the better game. 3 was garbage.
Advance 1 was slower paced than the other Advance games, which I liked. Being able to play as Sonic and Tails was also cool for the nostalgia factor as well. If Advance 3 just had Sonic and Tails instead of being Sonic Heroes but on the GBA, it would have probably been a better game.

you do realize that whole fiasco was because of one person who got fired from the company and then dumped the entire planned dlc release schedule on day 1. that being said, the game would have sold way more if it was $40 with two $20 season passes. at this point i think theyre just using the small dedicated playerbase (at least on pc's) to fully balance the game before a permanent price drop (if theyre smart - to $20)

ZoE1 is a decent game plagued by its slow pacing and terrible protagonist.
go play ZoE2. it's improved on every single way. It's one of the best games developed for the PS2
Let's talk about the Nintendo NX.
Let's say it IS a console/portable hybrid like pic related. It comes with an HDMI dongle using the same broadcom tech the Wii U streams with. You can plug it into your TV for local multiplayer or larger-screen single player gaming.
In order to push 720p at Wii U like graphics, Nintendo has to go with a very expensive, high-class ARM Chip. They also have to shell out for one hell of a battery. It's not impossible, but:
1. It's not selling for less than $400 (and Nintendo will take a loss at that). The ARM chip, dual LCDs and battery are too expensive.
2. It's not emulating Wii U games, despite having identical looking hardware. It's just too different architecturally to pull off that feat, and it doesn't have that level of horsepower.
3. On that note, it definitely doesn't have the level of horsepower to substantially outperform the PS4. No way, no how.
Would I still buy the fuck out of such a system? Yes, yes I would. But I'm a proud Wii U owner.

I wouldn't be very interested in a "hybrid" because I don't play handhelds. I'd rather not have to be forced to buy a screen+battery that I wouldn't use and have the power constrained to make sure it runs cool enough inside the plastic shell they stick it in.

The only reason I can see them pursuing the "hybrid" is because the 3DS is successful--not just with consumers, but with devs. They might want to piggyback off that success to secure the future of their next home console.
But it's probably prohibitively expensive.
