NG2 vanilla was GARBAGE, NGS2 was better.
DOAX was always garbage
Hayahi's only bad game was vanilla NG3, NG3RE was a huge improvement and welcome apology for it.

Never played a DOA before 5, except for a demo for DOA2 iirc, though from what I've seen, you're wrong. It always seemed like a competent fighting game series. I think I'm going to put DOA2, 3, and 4 on my backlog and find them, they seem fun.

NG2 was heavily flawed, but that's what makes it so tragic. The makings of a fantastic game were there and I feel like the combat system as it was, was an improvement from NGB. The problem was the horrible balance.
NGS2 and vanilla NG3 are the only modern NGs I haven't played yet.

It wasn't that big of an improvement or at least it couldn't have been. It's still not that good, just semi-competent as an action game.

I used to do this, back when decent arcade sticks weren't outrageous prices.
Now I just build them from scratch. This one has the body of a HRAP 3 that I got (It was completely messed up. For parts, essentially) and just put a bunch of new sanwa stuff on it.

I don't get why so many people complain about this game's roster. It's (potentially) the very first game in the series. Did you really expect the developers to prioritize obscure shitmons like Swampert or Klefki over the big guns like Charizard and Lucario? 16 characters for a first installment is perfectly fine.
