Assault is the fan favorite of the series. That's obviously not to say it's the most popular game in the whole franchise, but it none the less has a lot of fans despite the bad reviews it got at the time of release.
I have no idea where Zero is going to end up in the Star Fox lexicon, but I think it's going to end up being pretty forgettable. This is the third time Miyamoto has beaten this horse and I think it is pretty much dead now. There are so many directions he could have gone in with this game, but he chose to just re-imagine the original game yet again with a new controller gimmick. I think Miyamoto should spend less time trying to "fix" the way we control games, and focus more on actual game ideas.
Imagine if Kantai collection was a game about ship fighting in actual combat with anime girls, like more strategy based and an actual game not browser oriented. Would you play it? Or an action strategy game could work, smaller ships the girls would be action oriented while the larger ships would be strategy bassed, it could a mass MMO multiple players rather than two.

Played a good bit of it with some friends who couldn't tough it out as long as me and we all agree on several things to its detriment.
The progress system is confusing. You're not made aware of many systems you have to stumble upon by accident. There's very few maps and game modes are map restricted. If you want to play a certain map or mode you've got to play that one or two maps that's both. There's very little incentive to take advantage of the team power synergies. When Motoko shares invisibility only the nearest few people can get in on it, and it's not good in the first place. Everyone can see through the Therm-Optic Camo's shimmer. They also take a long time to charge up for group sharing.
The movement's not tight. The shooting's not good at all. You always think that guy should have gotten hit a lot more because there's well hidden spread. You never think you should have died for any reason other than the guys shooting at you had better numbers on their guns and attachments. Attachments that are unlocked in a completely non-sensical way that seems random after each match.
Who here replaying the older Souls games after DaS3? Not hating on it, but it was too much fan pandering and little new.
i was replaying DS1 last week but online is dead (literally, it doesn't fucking work on PC) and i'm fucking sick of the game randomly locking at 15 fps, so i just uninstalled it

me and my buddies played trough, Deamons Souls, Dark Souls 1 and 2 before 3 came out. I like 3. its not perfect but what from game is? lot of fan service sure nut im a fan and i dont mind being serviced at all

is this worth the $40? i'm a demi-winning HC path of exile player and i'm wondering how this game stacks up. i'm watching streams and it looks faceroll as fuck; end game is simply a gear check while you run around spamming two buttons with your eyes closed. it doesn't look fun or challenging at all.
