Not at all.
The former created modern fantasy, the latter is just a mish-mash of heavy metal and said fantasy in space which stopped being funny around 2004.
The actual games are uncomparable with Warhammer being a great wargame while 40k is just an expensive, powercreep obsessed and frankly unplayable piece of garbage.
The only reason you ditch Warhammer is because you know fuck all about it.
