I don't remember exactly, but I think Death by Degrees had a unique system.
I'm wondering why dodging in place did not catch on in addition to the normal moving away because this makes you feel like you're going toe to toe with the enemies

The only ones that are even worth it are ones that give a melee weapon a ranged attack, but those weapons usually suck anyway, and previous souls games had melee weapons with ranged attacks and it worked just fucking fine.
Why were they even programmed in?
Seems like an absolute waste of time.

Regular straight swords have that shield break uppercut. Every once in a while I'll be doing footies with some idiot and catch him with a shield break when he gets cocky. I like it because it's a lot safer than a kick.

If you are maining Weapon arts your arn't using magic in the first place.
Also Magic is mostly still broken so there was never a point to use it to begin with.

Don't know what the fuck you have been playing but it does more damage just takes more Stamina to perform.

Did Nintendo delberately make this game as horrible as possible so that when it flops they have an excuse to never waste resources making another title in the series again like it happened with F-Zero? They even got the shitty Platinum Games B studio to do it instead of Kamiya's, the one who's said over and over that he wants to make Star Fox. This is legitimately worse than Other M, Sticker Star and Skyward Sword.
The funniest thing is those people who claimed the delay was to address the complaints and fix the controls and ended up being just to lock in-game content behind amiibos.
