Can we all agree DS3 had the best atmosphere out of the 3 games?
Sure, Untended Graves and Anor Londo were rehashes, but they were also incredibly memorable and actually left an impression.

DS1 needed the DLC to feel complete, and DS2 was atrocious without the DLC. DS3 felt like a more complete game right out of the box.

Well, you're partially correct. People did in fact test it, there's actually a huge thread full of contributions for it.
It works and people are arguing whether or not it should be nerfed as it can easily bring down great shields which are supposed to be massive hunks of pure defense.
