I've always been interested in the Senran Kagura games, but been apprehensive beause I don't know if they have any redeeming qualities, or if it's just a repetitive button-mash/damage-sponge game.
This game is nowhere as bad as people make it out to be. I just 100%ed it and had a lot offun. However, there were things that could've made it A+

Splatoon has officially been out for almost a year now and it's still holding strong. Overwatch will probably do the same and this phase will wear off soon enough.
I just finished the trilogy last night..These games were super fun..I think the first game was the best, third had one of the best cases* last one*, but second had the one case I figured out right away
If you like it, you can apollo justice, ace attorney investigations as well as dual destinies.
Ghost trick and danganronpa are also games that you might be interested in as well.
A lot of the people think AA2 is saved entirely by case 4.
I don't see it. It's a good case, okay, but it's not enough to save the whole game. The meh soundtrack doesn't help.

This game isn't fun on soloqueue.
If your team is doing badly, you probably are too, unless you're playing a character like McCree or a sniper and aren't helping that much with the actual objective. If you try to win when your team has two Hanzos on it you're punished by continually getting in 4V2s where you will probably only feed their support ult meter and die. Because of counters and cooldowns, the game is designed so that no player, other than maybe a hacking Widowmaker, can truly carry a bad team. In TF2 there were a handful of character match ups you would surely lose, in this game there are tons. Most of the cast cannot 1V1 a full health Tracer or Winston. Half of the game is character selection.
Plus, there are a lot of ults that you cannot conceivably avoid and basically guarantee your death, like Reinhardt's ground pound, Mei's ult if it's placed well, and Tracer's bomb.
