I have to admit it annoys me to some extent that they bothered making a story and pouring much money in those shorts but you can't be bothered to find any actual information in game about it. You have to roam around to find it.

Has anyone else tried the beta, yet? I played a survivor. For two games in a row, the killer put me up on the meathook, a team mate helped me down, and I got stuck inside a fucking tree or a rock somehow. You have no choice but to leave the match, and that counts as a defeat. Other than that, it's a pretty spooky game.

Here's an excerpt I found from Wikipedia.

So the first true action-RPG was a japanese game.
There you have it folks, not only is Dark Souls a JRPG but by extension all action RPG's actually stem from and are influenced by japanese games like Dragon Slayer and Nihon Falcom
