Doesn't it get boring running and bobbling and shooting things over and over and over and over again? FPS's are the same game dressed in 10 different skins. What's the appeal of shooting shit?

Because it is the one game type where you experience things in first person; it doesn't matter whether you shoot things or use magic or even use melee weapons (awkwardly).
Being "in the game" is a very big attraction, hence the current VR fad. If VR eventually evolves into full neural interface technology and we can literally be inside games ourselves, that would probably overtake all traditional KB+M FPSes.

What advanced scripting techniques will be invented to facilitate that level of interactivity? How could a limited multiplayer component be carefully set up to spontaneously deliver many of those moments? Now these are the interesting questions.
So /v/, when do you think these true CRPGs will finally emerge? With VR? What are you hoping for?

With E3 coming up in 10 days, I believe it's time for everyone to start working on their Squilliam edits. Maybe you might not be as excited for E3 this year as you were in previous years, but still, this is a fun tradition, why not participate?
I'm not very good at image editing or drawing, so I can't be the main collage-anon who puts everything together, but I can at least gather as many squilliam edits as I can as we wait for someone to take up the reins, then I can dump my folder of them. I've already saved a few from previous threads, so I'll post what I have. If you don't see yours, go ahead and post it.

They are well designed to get you to pay but i am too old to fall for that shit its the kids that are gonna make this garbage the norm.
There's no reason to buy this game, especially if you played the open beta and saw everything there was to see in six hours or so, but if one felt like it anyway there's one great reason to play it on PS4 over PC.
