The game is a love letter to video games.
I don't think any other game in existence meshes the art style, gameplay mechanics, music, and story together so fluidly

Rez, Ace Combat 4/5/Zero, Ape Escape 3/Pumped & Primed, Need for Speed HP2, Monster Hunter, Twisted Metal Black.
The last Halo I played was 3, but now that Halo 6 will probably be on PC I'm thinking I'll probably play it since I liked the story and the multi will probably be fun at least. The question is what's the best way to play through the series? I have a 360 so I could just pick up 4,, ODST and Reach if I wanted, but that leaves Halo 5. I know Xbone's are fairly cheap now, and I could get 5 and MCC to play through the games I missed out on and replay CE, 2 and 3. Problem is I'd essentially be buying an Xbone for 3 games, MCC, Halo 5 and probably Sunset Overdrive. Maybe the old Rare games if I got bored. So I guess can any Halo fans weigh in?

I think I've been living under a rock or something but I finally bought Skyrim because I wanted to kill people with a crossbow and it actually looked kinda cool. Since this is my first time playing, do you need the DLC to buy a crossbow? my understanding is that dawnguard adds more crossbows, but is there any in the base game?

Only Dawnguard has crossbows, you have to not choose the vampire path to get more crossbow upgrades.
There are crossbow mods too,

Got the goddess for Symmetra, Rescue Mei, and Lone Wolf even though I never play those characters.
But so far I've been pretty lucky. Other than those two I've generally only gotten legendaries for classes that I actually play.
Got Abominable Mei, and gothdyke Zarya but not sure if that counts since all of Zarya's costumes are terrible
