There's a lot of differences iirc. The last boss you fight, some bosses during the storyline and how you progress in the story. gameplay is also completely different from character to character. Your side characters also influence some stuff and when you get them.

Boss Battles carry on for wayyy too long to pad out the game. Tedious as fuck and a pseudo-intellectual story that takes itself a lot more seriously than it should.

Enjoyed it a lot, but I was finished with it in around 4 hours. I should probably go back to it at some point.
I've come to love dragon quest after playing DQ 7 on my imported 3DS and DQ 8 via emulation. I have to play through DQ 7 slow since my japanese isn't that good, so I'll probably finish 8 before it. What should I play after 8? Is there a DQ to top it?

Isn't there an English version of DQ7 on PS1? Just emulated that. The English 3DS port is coming out in a few months anyway so you might as well play through 8 first.

1 through to WaW. Maybe Black OPs 1. I didn't play 3.

Nothing is with it for MP. Only most recent cod is the best MP due to lack of hackers (not God MP anyways).
