I agree here. I think he's a great actor, VERY dedicated. BUT the design is understandably questionable... That's what I was hoping to hear about. I haven't heared anyone in the middle ground on it, it's all I HATE IT, or I LOVE IT... No middle ground.
I think this would make sense for a modern joker. Some of the clubland aspects of his personality are dubious, but also that is a trope of the modern drug peddling super criminal, so we will see.
Excellent actor though, cant wait to see what he does.
