Who's better at filmmaking?
Japanese or Koreans?
The chingchongs.
>>63682075
Hong Kongians

The Japanese were better in the past, but there's only been a handful of good films out of there in the last decade.
Korea has put out a lot of solid movies as of late, but only a couple of great ones.

How is TV/Film in Mexico?
No niggers, only white people.
>TV
>it's a "rich guy is in love with poor girl (protagonist) but another girl who wants the rich guy is making main character's life hell because of it" novela
There are many great spic directors and many great spic movies. I hear the television is pretty terrible, unless you like soap operas and spics.
Who're your favorite directors? Mine so far are pic related.

good taste tbvh
Ever ever?
Kiarostami, Antonioni, Fellini, Renoir, Wes and PT Anderson, Jacques Demy, Fassbinder, Scorsese, Woody Allen, F. Coppola
>>63681767
I haven't heard of half of these people.
Also, I just realized that I thought No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood were the same movie.
God, I'm retarded.

Well that reminds me I might add the Coens to my list. There's so many great directors, it's tough. Jonathan Glazer too, Spike Jonze and Kaufman...
Seeing it next week. How were the fights, /tv/?
terrible
incredible
Honestly? Underwhelming. After the meh OT fights and the acrobatics of the PT fights.... these were just black. I was disappointed. :\

What is wrong with DUDE WEED LMAO?
This movie had the whole cinema in hysterics including myself. Why don't you guys like fun?
>>63681231
/tv/'s full of contrarian retards that, despite wanting to be independent of what's cool, only like what a message board tells them to.
Superiority complexes and manchild egos
>>63681231
It's wrong if that is the only joke they have to fall back on. In moderation it's not that bad.
How do you feel about the new Star Trek movie killing off Uhura?

>thinking this will actually happen
Even so, she is basically the same character Avatar and Guardians of the galaxy anyway

Who cares? They've already killed the franchise.
Fargo Season 2 talks about feminism and gender divisions a LOT. But I can't quite pin down what it is trying to say.
Here's my best shot:
>Women can be very capable.
>Feminism might be theoretically correct, but looks foolish compared to the depth of real human interaction.
>Conservative women who have good husbands are already living the feminist dream of doing what they want.
>"Liberated" women will never be able to live the...

I don't think it's antifeminist, but it realistically shows that 90% of women calling themselves feminists are covering for something.
Like when Simone betrays her family to die and passes it off as "not being told what to do anymore".
Why are American comedians so obsessed with weed? Are their live shows aimed at 14 year olds or something?
Pic related of course, although Benson is far from the only example.
While it's obviously a gimmick, most people smoke pot, or have at one time in their lives, so can relate to it.
>>63681062
You never see British comedians talk about it though, nor do you never see them pull the DUDE LEGALISE IT AS A MIDDLE CLASS WHITE MAN I FEEL OPPRESSED THAT MY MEDICINE IS BANNED
Americans just love to whine about manchildren related things.

In comparison to 2014 Godzilla, is the sand aqua monster bigger or smaller?

This scene had so much potential to be scary, big things under water is litterally my phobia but "There's always a bigger fish" and "We'll be fine"

Hey, it's Christmas time, you know!
I've watched a few Godzilla films and I've really dug them (original, vs. King Ghidora, vs. Destoroyah, vs. Biollante, and the lame G'14).
I was wondering if there are any decent set releases that have
a- the Japanese language with subs
b- Heisei era or later
c- spinoffs (Gamera, Mothra? these are just maybes)
In your opinion, are there any worthwhile Showa-era movies other than the original? I see a lot of goofy gifs posted and while they make me laugh I don't know if that translates...
