It's a decent film. I remember liking it when I saw it in the theater. I think it deserved Best Picture, but it lost to Crash. Crash was also good, but not as good.
First half of the film was slow. Second half really fucking picked up and now it's one of my favorite films. Not so much on my list of I will watch it all the time favorites, but more on my list of I have only seen it three times before but recognize its brilliance favorites list.

In 2013, 12 Years a Slave was the first film in HISTORY from a black director to win best picture. I don't think it's fair to just completely ignore that only 2 years later.
