Pic related for me; I enjoyed the first five or so seasons of Always Sunny In Philadelphia because I related to the main characters, it reminded me of my group of friends doing dumb shit whilst drunk, we had our own token chick that we dicked on and spent a lot of our time day-drinking. I always liked how they spoke their mind even if it would typically be considered 'inappropriate', and I could relate to Charlie and Frank's shit hole of an apartment (lots of people live in filth but it's rarely depicted on television)
It only became apparent to me in the later seasons that we're actually supposed to be watching from the outside in, laughing at how bigoted and supposedly horrible these characters are. From that angle, the show becomes something else entirely
