Just saw Batman V. Superman. I know this could be posted in any of the other threads but I felt this warranted it's own. Feel free to post your own thoughts on the movie below.
I'll give Zack Snyder credit: when he hits the mark? It's spot-fucking-on. The cinematography (seriously this movie is fucking beautiful), the action, some of the performances(in particular Ben Affleck and Jeremy Irons), and the titular showdown are all brilliant, and would totally be deserving of high praise.
That is, were it not for the rest of the movie.
I don't know what the hell Snyder was smoking when he wrote some of the things in this movie. Lex Luthor is the most recognizable and laughable flaw (We're letting Jesse Eisenberg play a villain? What the hell?) but he's far from the worst part of this movie. The pacing is absolutely fucking terrible, no one's motivations are clear, and their shitty attempts at building a shared universe feel forced and extremely rushed, like they weren't really thinking in the long term and just wanted to say "Hey! We can totally make these!".
Rest of the review is spoilered for spoiler reasons.
--------------------The biggest flaw here in my opinion is, predictably, Superman's death. I know Doomsday kills Clark in the comics, and that that particular arc broke death in comics, but so do thousands of other people. Snyder drags out the funeral for an unholy amount of time. They try to evoke genuine emotion, which I give credit for them trying, but knowing how this arc ends sucks any of the tension, sadness, literally any emotion at all out of the death and the ensuing "resurrection". You want to make me feel something? Make me feel scared. Make me feel like the characters are in fucking danger instead of going "Oh yeah, he's totally dead...or is he?"
4/10, Snyder you need to fucking apply yourself.

Are you me?
Your review is honest and I adore you for that.
Like you said, when the movie works, it really works. One of my favorite moments while brief (and somewhat shown in the trailers, though out of context) was when we just finished seeing Batman tear shit up, fucking niggas up left and right, driving through big fuck off walls with his Batmobile, then out of fucking nowhere, in the middle of his mission, Supes shows up, you see the shock in Batman's eyes for a moment. As he runs into him and Supes gives him a warning and then bolts off like a fucking pimp.
There were other moments that really grabbed me too. I saw it in IMAX so the IMAX shot scenes looked gorgeous.
Echoing your comments, yes, a lot of the movie just feels a bit messy, and underdeveloped. Unfortunately.
The moment whenFlash showed up through time to give Bruce a warning/message was one of the most surreal and oh shit this is happening moments.Probably the only part I'd want to re-watch the movie for tbqh senpai.
At the end I was thinking multiple times "holy shit this is still going"

What did he mean by this?
There is no "damage control", only truth-telling.
The plebeian excrement which infests RT and this board sickens and enrages me. "BvS" is a powerfully ingenious, deeply philosophical cinematic meditation. It is philosophic statement and a work of art by an unsung visionary. Each frame is a majestically composed artwork in and of itself; the story Zack philosophically weaves is a challenging, deep, cerebral, and artful experience, mythic in scope and artistically philosophic in execution. Zack's grim, meditative, sensory atmosphere engulfs the film in a dark, dire, mythic aesthetic which completes Snyder's cinematic vision. The score is sublime, the preferences are career-defining and the script (wrought in part by Afleck) is masterful. BvS is Snyder's magnum opus, a work of art appreciated only by true patrician students of cinema; those who hate it hate because they cannot comprehend Snyder's genius and because they did not receive the "fun" "turn-your-brain-off" popcorn flick they have come to expect and were actually expected to THINK for a change and analytically comprehend a PIECE OF ART.
Thank you, Snyder for making an art piece instead of catering to the plebeian masses. One day your genius shall be appreciated by those you value cinema as a mode of artistic and philosophical expression. I give BvS a 9/10, it is a true work of art-cinema.

I thought this was a good film. Nice little bottle story of people going insane in an isolated situation. It had a really strong script and performances, but I did think it occasionally almost undermined them with choices that verged on parody and would have fucked it up if everything else weren't so strong.
I like the way the demon isolates Thomasin and seems to have a goal and even a sort of character when you look at the movie as a whole. That's missing in a lot of films about spooks.
Few too many northern accents, but the ending got me rock hard. Fucking Finchey as well. What did you faggots think?
>>67454174
FUCK YOU FAGGOTS JUST KEEP SPERGING ABOUT YOUR CAPESHIT
>>67454174
Just saw this. Had the strongest acting I've ever seen in a horror film. And I didn't know how it was going to end. And it had great tone. So breddy gud
>>67457827
Again, the judiciously period-accurate dialog was one of those things that verged on parody and almost fucked it up, but I was really shocked at how human all the characters seemed, because Puritans are really easy to just make cartoons.
The caption at the end that almost said 'based on a true story' nearly made me hate it though.
You know who actually surprised me in BvS?
Gal Gadot.
I thought she was going to be some absolute GURL POWER and MUH FEMINISM kind of thing, but her acting wasn't too bad, and she captured the spirit of WW quite well, despite how little we saw of her.

She was ok but I still think she looks too skinny
She needs to put on at least 20lbs more to look like an actual amazon warrior
Her theme song was awesome

Gadot and Adams were crap, and the movie was fun enough. Agree with the rest. 3/10 movie.
>>67453826
>Adams
I tend to like her in other stuff but I hated her as Louis in MoS. She doesn't fit the character at all and is about as miscast in the role as Jesse Eisenberg.
>>67453772
>6.8/10
>Okay
Fuck off. 5 is okay, 5 is average.
6 is above average, 7 is good.
Were they forced to use actors that aren't white? At least 4/6 episodes start with some kind of indian actor, nurses and doctors are black, indian and asian. Anyone else notice this?
who cares
Who cares? It's still a good show.

This is going to be a huge sleeper hit because people love cats.
Name TWO (more than one) films that feature talking cats that DON'T also feature talking dogs.
I'll get you started: A Talking Cat!?!
>Cats + Non-threatening Afrokin Americans + Kevin Hart is probably in it.
This movie is going to make all of the money
>>67453614
The cat in this movie cannot talk. Please take this to the Kevin Spacey's Nine Lives thread.
Are these movies any good?
I only remember watching the first and tokyo drift but that was a long time ago
They're stupid movies for ricers and South Americans. But they're kinda fun if you like vehicle porn. Basically they're like toned down Transformers movies without Micheal Bay autism
Do not watch 2 Fast 2 Furious. That's the worst one

so i should just start at number 3?

The earlier ones were pretty decent. The latest one was more of a bollywood action movie than most bollywood action movie. The ending was the only good thing about the latest one.
What do you think about this movie?
I liked it.
It was pretty good, loved how it looked though
Great.
No memes
