What does it mean for a film to "no longer hold up"?
Does that mean that the film was good when it came out, but now it is no longer good? I'm not talking about movies you watched when you were younger that you thought were good and then you grew up and your tastes changed. Is a good movie not still a good movie even if some of the technology or references are outdated?
Pic is somewhat related as I've heard this criticism used against it and I saw it recently and it's still a great movie.

The first Matrix will never ever be surpassed.
We do not talk about the other two.
>>67679353
I suspect you are a shill here to try to plant the seeds for the public accepting a matrix remake.
fuck off kike
I downloaded a Blu Ray rip of The Matrix recently and it still holds up. The most hilariously dated parts I found were all the kicks that made people slowly drift towards the nearest wall, where they would collide and quickly fall to the ground.
>Company named LexCorp

>>67678750
lmao
/tv/ is too edgy to care about this movie
>>67678750
This fucking movie. I watched this two nights ago at 3am and it just kept me on the edge of my seat. There's a scene later on where after everything's said and done by the parents of the victim, the father starts yelling and it blind sighted me. He starts rambling on how he had planned to murder the woman who killed his son in explicit detail and I honestly felt my heart rate skyrocket during this scene.
This movie is fucking amazing. Made me cry three times, and all for different reasons.
How come noone is talking about how 'The Neon Demon' is filmed in 60fps.
http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/nicolas-winding-refn-goes-60fps-for-the-neon-demon-20150516it's the only thing that looks interesting about it
>>67678724

Was /tv/ ever right about anything?
>"BvS is shit!"
While it is by far the best capeshit.
But it was shit so we were right, /v/ and picture related is another time we were right
thats 2/3
If Civil War ends up being a mess then we'll be 3/3. you'll have to stop being a casual and keep capeshit on /co/ as part of the deal
>>67677746
meh , I was defending BvS last week. Now that I've seen it I can only say that it was disappointing. Cast was decent, visuals were good but story was so bad and pacing was all over the place. Shame ,I was really looking forward to it

>>67677527
that's actually a bit clever
>>67677527
Mmmm
>>67677546
Exactly, potential is what makes a bad film worse. It's more painful to watch a movie that was bad but still be able to see how good it could have been.
Post 'em now sweet /tv/
>>67677047
10 Cloverfield Lane, and uh...that's about it I think
worst movies i've seen from worst to not as worst:
1. batman v superman
2. pride and prejudice and zombies
3. deadpool
4. zoolander 2
5. the 5th wave
6. the forest
best films i've seen so far:
1. hail caesar
2.
3.
4. midnight special
the only movies even worth watching are 10 cloverfield lane and zootopia
Was he literally retarded? Blaiming it all on chucky only made him look more like the murderer, its fucking retarded to think that you would continuously blame the doll.
>>67677020
Is it actually stupid if that's what actually happened? I mean, yeah, it sounds like an idiotic attempt at covering one's own ass in a real-world context, but in the movie, that's exactly what happened.
I love the original child's play.
Chucky was legit scary.
All of the other movies in the franchise were complete fucking garbage but the first is really good.
>>67677020
I had nightmares about this movie.
