I think your problem with this movie is that while it has classically evil and good characters it does not have an evil vs a good side. Whatever facts stated about the atrocities during the christian conquest are at least partially true. Just watched this and its mediocre at best, a solid 5/10. Not as good as winter soldier, the movie has no weight to it, it fails to deliver the emotional punch we were promised.
The drama was replaced with quips and banter that gave the effect that the battle had no stakes. The renaissance of superhero films has gone. The only thing that will bring it back is doctor strange, suicide squad or x-men: Apocalypse.

Mike, better banter and the show really picked up in its final few seasons with him. Joel era was a lot of complete snoozers from the 50s that get boring even with the riffs, Mike era had bad 70-80s movies that are funny on their own already. It makes things more enjoyable
