The direction was really confused I'd assume. Whedon was being pulled in several directions at once and the movie felt really unbalanced.
What is your opinion on Corey Feldman's career? He was in Stand By Me, The Goonies, and The Lost Boys but I haven't seen him in much since. Jackson took over the project and had little-to-no pre-production time. iirc, they didn't even have shot lists on the days. They were making up a lot of it as they went, and changing things after viewing the dailies.
Plus, it should never have been three films. The CGI was atrocious. The 48fps was a misfire and I think by the 2nd film Jackson was pretty much beat. I suspect he knew he was releasing an absolute turd. IT's hard to keep up the morale on set too when people know.

What does /tv/ think of Lost Girl?
I've only just become aware of the series. I've watched a couple episodes and it doesn't seem entirely terrible. I'm enjoying it in the same mode that I enjoyed Supernatural before that show jumped the shark, and then jumped over the same shark again in an Impala.
I'm a big fan of the concept of the Fae, at least mostly informed by the discworld and kingkiller chronicle versions of it.
