Besides that the main character isn't chubby enough to be the class fat-kid the movie is an almost line-for-line recreation of the book. Holes is one of the most faithful movie adaptions of all time and one of the few cases where if you have a reading assignment you actually can get away with just seeing the movie.
This movie kinda sucks. It drags and the plot is uninteresting. I forced myself to watch it twice and I still can't find anything I like about it.
This movie is also a joyless bore and the camera is always shaking and ruins the interesting visuals. Even when it's just side characters spouting expository dialog it's shaking like a retard is behind the camera.
First one was better.

Halt and Catch Fire Season 1 was a 10/10 show. Season 2 dropped the ball with all the focus on the "VIDYAGAEMS AND FEMINISM" shit instead of the genuinely interesting early PC industry stuff. Hope season three pulls it back together.

start with the imdb top 250. most people will tell you to skip it, and while their reasoning (that it's mostly pleb garbage) is justified, it's also worthwhile to watch it just to see what it is that becomes popular. after that, you should move on to the Sight & Sound top 50, then They Shoot Pictures, Don't They?, or just start exploring directors that you like.

So I just got out of an early screening for Warcraft.
This movie is fucking awesome man. I don't even know where to begin, I don't want to spoil anything for anyone but fuck man if you like Warcraft at all then you'll like this movie and if you're not a fan of Warcraft the only reason you'll shit on it is not because it's not a good movie but because it's 2deep4u(literally the 2 different reactions I got from people)
