I unironically enjoy Vaporwave
cant wait for his next release, i know hes got loads of material laying around
is classical music really that great? seems boring to me and don't see how learning about music theory and crap would make it sound better
Learning theory doesn't "make it sound better," it gives you the tools for further analysis. It does little for enjoyment but a lot for appreciation.
>>66460073
Classical certainly has its merits as a musical medium . For many classical is a taste acquired over time.
Also stop posting meme philosophers.
>>66460073
Classical music is just like any other music. There's shitty rock that you don't listen to, there's your favorite band that you jerk off into /mu/. You like Run The Jewels, but you don't care much for To Pimp a Butterfly.
Same thing with classical, there's some stuff you like, some you don't. Composers that are typically better, composers that you fucking hate
What are some metal bands heavily unfluenced by classical western music? I.E.
What are some classical european composers that anticipated metal's sound?
Pic related.
>>66460043
John Michael Osbourne
I don't think you know what i.e. means.
Anyway, Haggard and Wagner, respectively, are the easy picks.

>What are some metal bands heavily unfluenced by classical western music?
Necrophagist, particularly the epitaph album - has quotations of beethoven and prokofiev
Der Golem - did a cover of Stravinsky's Le Sacre
>What are some classical european composers that anticipated metal's sound?
Stravinsky's Le Sacre / the rite of spring - 1912
Mendelssohn's shredding - string quartets, piano conceri, etc.
Paganini's shredding - 24 caprices for solo violin
Penderecki - Threnody for the victims of hiroshima (not that any metal band ever reached his level of dissonance or aleatoricism, but surely an influence)
Just got one of the 1000 original presses of Deathcrush EP by Mayhem, anybody else collect rare albums or old black metal albums?

About to go on my longest plane trip of my life ever (12 hours), I really need you to hook me up some some anti-boredom music.
Like, you know background music ? I'm looking for the opposite of that.
bumpity bump, anything that has lot of complicated lyrics or a large dense instrumentation would be cool
What do you guys think of the new the l.l.y's album?
