They weren't that good.
They really weren't. I mean, sure, some of their stuff was pretty darn innovative for the time, but we've had MUCH better music over the years. I don't get why should all kiss their mop top asses for their historical element either. Its just nostalgia; almost like a placebo effect. If Sgt Peppers was released in this day and age - no one would really give that much a fuck.
their music was a tool used to push a pro-drug agenda on the listening public of young people, look it up

The fact that so many books still name the Beatles as “the greatest or most significant or most influential” rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded by commercial...

>Kanye doesn't go hard in a single song
In No More Parties in L.A. he goes harder than he ever has in his career and he upstages the greatest rapper in the industry right now
if you ignore all the filler it's actually a pretty good album
Friendly reminder not to let others (especially on here) belittle you on your music taste. While music is objective, taste is subjective. No one is better than you just for liking some avant-garde bullshit or free jazz played in reverse and guilty pleasures shouldn't even exist. In fact, those who make fun of others' tastes are simply insecure or memeing. I'm sick and tired of the egotistical, ignorant and plain negative attitude of this board. We all love music, and we should just cut back on the memes for awhile and actually discuss music in a civil manner.
That...

I just listened to Doolittle. I've been going through RYM top 100 albums as a jumping point. Doolittle was ok I gave it a 6/10. Its obviously very good and for its time different and pioneering, but I think it must have lost a little of that luster with age. Some of the tracks on it are pure gold, Debaser, Monkey gone to heaven, here comes your man, others are forgettable. Recently listened to In the Court of the Crimson King, def a 10/10 for me and waaaayyyyy ahead of its time for 1969. New top 10 album of all time for me.
all i know is that if someone comes here proclaiming bands like my chemical romance or some shit, youre going to get torched
/mu/ standards, whatever that means

Can we all take a moment in appreciation for how great Fred Durst and his project Limp Bizkit are? I think too many people fail to realize his talents and innovations that he has given to the music industry with things like: The incorporation of rap lyrics in rock music, introducing DJs as part of a lineup, (Linkin Park and Slipknot are merely trying to copy this), telling you to be true to yourself and not give a fuck about what anyone else thinks. I feel that out of all the bands and musicians out there, it was always Fred Durst and his music that truly spoke out to me on...

i would let fred durst raw dog me in a hotel bathroom
music sucks tho
>>63085723
i hate limp bizkit because they ruined korn.
korn's first album was amazing. then LB popularized this nu-metal idea. it may have been ok but fred durst leading the movement, and being the face just ruined any respect it may have had
Wes Borland was the only thing remotely interesting about that band.
