Back then:

>tons of genius classical composers used their love for God to inspire their creativity and desire to make great art
>hundreds of musical masterpieces were made in honor of the church/liturgy, Christian events and holidays and important figures of Christian history etc.
>Christianity and great music went hand and hand, the religion and the music were respected and we were given thousands of years of amazing music that still hasn't been matched in modern times

But now:

>popular music happened, and gave birth to toxic anti-establishment culture, with most popular music musicians rebelling against religion and attempting to break all the "rules" of music
>popular music "artists" believe that in order to make art, you have to go against musical conventions, however the great classical music composers knew that artful music wasn't about breaking rules, it was about taking ideas and seeing how far they could push them
>now in popular culture Christianity is mostly represented by country music, a joke of a genre
>as a matter of fact, all forms of popular music have been basic and uninteresting compared to the compositions of classical composers

Popular music was the worst thing to happen to music.

Why does it matter what they're doing with their records?
As long as they keep the industry afloat it's good enough for me
>>
Is it any different to the people on here who hoard digital files and never listen to them (and probably never will because of how much they have?)

i´m having a pure sadness mix on today while trying to figure out why people think i´m not social enough and what´s stopping me from getting the job. it´s been emotionally heavy day, i feel like a loser. what im today is not what i were 10 years ago by any means.

One of my personal favourites

Are they the Stone Roses of our generation?
16 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
No. The Stone Roses were a band based on the technical skill of John Squire, Mani and Reni, and how they could jam while writing poppy songs. There is literally no jamming in a tame impala recording bc you can't jam by yourself.

>technical skill
You're setting the bar awfully low if you think jamming off 2 chords or a simple bass vamp requires a great deal of technical skill. At least with the facility The Stone Roses did it with.

Is it just me or all the previews suggest that the album will be exceptionally gentle and "user friendly" for Swans?
>>
>>64046274
I mean, Gira did say it was going to be a softer album so
>>
>>64046274
I think you lost perspective of what is considered "user friendly.

That said, this sounds like angels of light, but its too early to judge
