Why were Discord and Chrysalis both so overly confident?
That was seemingly their only downfall.
Discord somehow didn't realise the band had not only got back together and got their colours back, but also weren't acting against their element anymore, so he got rekt.
Chrysalis seemed to have thought that gaining power and strength though love is a ridiculous sentiment, when that's pretty much the basis of her entire race.
