How do trans people cope with knowing they'll never date/be loved again?
I live in a place too small to have chasers, and even though I don't pass for shit, my sex drive is so low I'm only attracted to like 5% of people and even if I settled to someone who'll continuously misgender me, I wouldn't find one I could find attractive.

So my best friend that i've known for going on 11 years is really confusing me lately. No. "Transgender" is necessarily pretty broad linguistically if you accept that gender identity is a continuum with most data points clustered around two somewhat narrowly defined "poles". What bothers me is that acceptable gender expression is so limited that these identities are appealing to people who are very comfortably male and female.

They're trying to have their voices heard, too. No one wants to be made invisible. Their problems are real, even if they're not the same as ours.

This is a problem, though. If it wasn't a local documentary, that shows an apparent lack of concern with representing the different faces of transgender discrimination. It's also a problem that is frequently faced by FtMs, since the eyes of the world are disproportionately (and uncomfortably) focused on MtFs. Anyway, if the documentary wasn't local, all three interviewees being NB is shameful, and the group responsible should be taken to task on their, ultimately, laziness.

They actually do matter, so it's good that someone is listening.

But this is unacceptable behaviour. A portion of it is unmistakably internalized transphobia - some not insignificant portion of nonbinary persons are exploring their gender identity from a comparatively "safe" position where they haven't necessarily "failed" at their assigned gender. Compassion may be needed, but the lack of respect for transsexual persons and the issues specifically pertaining to us needs to be addressed, too.
I can't say that I've encountered transsexual dismissal by NBs in my offline life, and my online life doesn't really extend to social media networks, so I'm probably being insulated from much of what you're describing.
