I got my first laser hair treatment on my face this last Saturday. My skin has been really irritated since then. I still can't shave properly, the skin is too bumpy and gets aggressively red, and I can't get close enough to the skin to get it clean. All "rights" are a social construct. We say that people have inherent, sometimes God-given rights, but that is not some innate law of the universe. People have rights because their governments allow them to have rights, oftentimes because the people being governed would threaten them with death if there were attempts to strip them of these rights (assuming they haven't already been disarmed and aren't at the total mercy of those in power).

Be there for her. You don't need to treat her as a 'trans person' and take on a completely different behaviour, just treat her as a friend with some added sensibilites.
Don't pretend to understand what she's going through, but offer to listen.

That's mostly what I've tried to do, but it's getting difficult to be passive. I'm also not sure if her therapist, not the doctor but the psychological therapist, is too ethical. The therapist sends her out to places which aren't generally known for accepting trans people, I don't know why the therapist does this, and the encounters almost always end badly.
